Our rankings are based on a projected finish at the MHSAA Final Meet. Because of that scoring format, it may be different from a team’s dual meet, regional meet or MITCA Team Championship finish.
2008 Track Results
We would like to collect as many results as possible and post them or a link to them. They are available in our forum, and if you have results that are not posted there, please feel free to post them. We assure that MichTrack.org has all of our results in an effort to make the list for the power ranking as complete as possible.
General Idea
MichiganCrossCountry.com and MichiganTrackAndField.com are the brainchild of Dan Wytko and Don Passenger. Created in November of 2007, we aim to bring you accurate rankings of Michigan High School Cross Country and Michigan Track and Field.
Sponsors Needed
We are actively seeking a few sponsors who for the few hundred dollars they may invest will receive exposure on our website. Do you have a business that can sponsor us? If so please contact us via email at Don at MichiganCrossCountry.com or Dan at MichiganCrossCountry.com.
Transparent Rankings
We seek to create rankings that are fully transparent. By transparent we mean that you will be able to understand exactly how we calculate our rankings and who is on our ranking panel. You will not know how each ranker voted individually. Past methods used by others have given points for invitationals and weighted certain invitationals, but we have never been able to understand exactly the full ranking methodology. We hope to explain ours fully so that the process is transparent and thus may be critiqued over time.
Cross Country Power Rankings
In cross country we hope to be able to create a power rankings that rank each team in the state who has undertaken a large invitational. These are meant to be objective determinations based entirely on objective data and void of any subjective interpretation. Like our rankings we hope to make our process fully transparent.
Forum
In the other popular forum around, posts get lost or lose relevance after a day or two because they drop off the face of the page. We hope we can create lively discussion in our Forum.
Calendars
We hope to build a complete list of track and field as well as cross country invitationals in Michigan along with links to results or invite sites for those invites that do post results timely. Please post any major invitationals to our calendar.
