Western girls cross county seventh at Midland Invitational

The Western girls cross-country team competed in the Midland Invitational on Saturday. The Warriors finished seventh in the nine-team event with a score of 145.

“We’re recovering from injuries and it’s taking a bit of time,” coach Mike Nesbitt said.

Western’s top performer was Kendra Ouillette who finished the race in 16th place with a time of 20:38. Teammates Francie Phillips and Catherine Clark were 28th and 29th respectably, both with a time of 21:39. Nicole Yates finished 35th with a time of 22:02 while Amanda Peterson placed 37th with a time of 22:12.

Avery Evenson of Hartland finished first in the race with a time of 18:32. The team from Brighton won the event with a score of 38. Hartland took second with a score of 53 and Midland Dow finished third with a score of 97. The hosting Midland High finished fourth with Mount Pleasant in fifth.
