Short-handed Ann Arbor Greenhills boys cross country team finishes eighth at Haslett Invitational

HASLETT — A banged-up and short-handed Greenhills School cross country team finished eight out of nine teams in the Division 3/4 race at Saturday’s Haslett Invitational.

James Chamness (27th, 19:02) and Ashwin Fugii (29th, 19:12) were the top finishers for the Gryphons, who finished with a team score of 181.

Concord (43) won the event, followed by Albion (61) and Stockbridge (75).

The team was missing a number of varsity runners. Jeff Bord, Eddie Kelley and Louis Johnson are out with running-related injuries, Andrew Garton with a soccer injury and Rob Dolot was on a college visit.
