COMSTOCK PARK — Carly Scott entered this year’s Division 3 state track meet with a whole new mindset.

The Schoolcraft sophomore came in as the No. 1 seed in the 100-meter dash after a breakout performance last year.

“Last year, as a freshman, I was just like, ‘Oh my god,'” Scott said of her top-10 finishes in the 100 and 200. “This year, I had to live up to what I did last year. I was under a little pressure.”

Scott looked to be making a bid for a first-place finish as the 100 race progressed, however, Albion’s Amelia Bannister and St. Charles’ Kelsie Williams were able to hold her off, forcing her to settle for third place for the second straight year.
