The Romeo cross country teams competed in a Division 1 regional meet at Goodells County Park on Oct. 31. The Bulldogs finished second in the girls meet, qualifying for the Division 1 state finals as a team.

In boys competition, Romeo’s Nick Jackson qualified for state as an individual.

Sophomore Shelby Jackson led Romeo in the girls race, earning All-Region honors with a fourth-place finish in a time of 20:04. Also making All-Region were freshman Shannon Boyce in fifth place (20:10) and sophomore Rose Propst in 13th (20:38).

Also for Romeo, Dani Peyerk took 21st place (21:14), Maria Quas finished 27th (21:37), Cassidy Pawlitz was 38th (21:57), and Jenna Thomas 41st (22:04).

Stoney Creek won the team title with 56 points, followed by the runner-up Bulldogs with 70. Rounding out the top five were Rochester with 76 points, Stevenson with 78 and Eisenhower with 91. The top three squads automatically qualified for state as teams, with the fourth-place Titans also qualifying due to having four runners in the top 20.
