Portage Northern’s Cody Osterhouse is getting the star treatment

JENISON — For several minutes Friday, Cody Osterhouse was getting the rock-star treatment.

Heck, with his long, curly, blond locks of hair, the Portage Northern junior even looked the part of a 1970s or ’80s celebrity. Think Willie Aames, who played Tommy Bradford on the show, “Eight is Enough.”

“My dad says, ‘As long as it’s not in your eyes, it’s fine with me,'” said Osterhouse, who had no trouble keeping his sights set on the lead pack in the 1,600-meter run before overtaking it for a surprising victory at the Division 1 track and field regional at Jenison High School.
