Roosevelt junior Cara Smock was this season’s N-H champion.

In girls’ cross country this fall, Woodhaven reclaimed the top spot by winning the News-Herald Invitational and the first season of the Downriver League.

But the Warriors weren’t the only story as Trenton and Roosevelt had strong seasons, while Grosse Ile finished the season with a flourish.

The Red Devils placed second at the Division 2 regional holding off third place Trenton in a battle that went down to the sixth runner tie-breaker and came in second at the Huron League meet.
