DTII Facts

— First boys meet: 1961 at Island Park

— First girls meet: 1978 at Clinton High School

— Originally called the ATII when The Daily Telegram was known as the Adrian Telegram

— Who qualifies: The top eight (and ties) performers in the 17 boys and the 17 girls track and field events.

— Awards: Medals are awarded to the top six finishing athletes and relay teams, as well as an outstanding male and female athlete award.

— Oldest boys record: Back in 1964, Adrian’s Kim Bauschka ran 21.5 (converted time) in the 220 yard dash and he shares the 200 meter record with Adrian’s Bob Dudley.

— Oldest girls record: Pam Brown of Morenci in the high jump, Rose Hejl of Blissfield and Chris Jones of Adrian in the 100, and Hejl in the 200 all established their records in the first year of the meet for girls in 1978.
