Ogemaw Heights girls cross country team places four in the top ten to win NEMC league meet

They say there is strength and numbers, and the Ogemaw girls cross country team proved that maxim by placing four runners in the top ten to win the North East Michigan Conference finals Saturday at Pine River Golf Course.

Tawas Area’s Emily Short ran away from the pack, taking first place by over a minute with a time of 20:44, but she was the only Brave to crack the top ten. Tawas finished third in team scoring.

Second-place Pinconning’s Emily Podgorniak (21:55) and Jessica Vidalez (22:25) finished second and third, respectively, while fellow Spartan Shannon McDougall posted a time of 23:45 to take 10th.
