CARLETON — The Milan High School girls cross country team had four of the top eight performances at Saturday’s Carleton Airport invitational, easily winning the team title.

The Big Reds did so without defending Division 2 state champion Jordan Tomecek, who missed the meet with an injury.

Angela Swan (2nd, 20:01) and Tara Lewis (3rd, 20:17) were both at the front of the pack, leading Milan to a 34-point team score. Second-place Grosse Ile finished with 72.

Jenna Manor (sixth, 21:00), Laura Heath (eighth, 21:12) and Kelly Copeland (15th, 22:25) also scored for Milan.
