KENT CITY BOYS FINISH SECOND IN SILVER: The Kent City boys tied for second place with Hopkins at the O-K Silver conference meet, but finish the season in the sole second-place spot because of winning the Hopkins-Kent City dual meet during the season.

The Eagles won an impressive five of 17 events, as Logan Howe led all athletes with 29 individual points. Howe started the meet with a personal-best long jump of 21-3. Howe also won the 100 meter dash with a time of 11.46 seconds, defeating last year’s state champion and another state medalists in the event.

Alex Wilson was also a two-time champion, defending his 1600 meter and 3200 meter events from 2008. Wilson won the 1600 in a school-record and conference-record time of 4:21.41. He then won the 3200 in 9:51.27.
