Hopkins Boys Track team continues solid season

Advance Newspapers, May 04, 2009 7:47 p.m.

HOPKINS CONTINUES SOLID SEASON: Although the Vikings finished sixth of seven teams in last Saturday’s Red Hawk Invitational at Cedar Springs, Coach Jamie Kiss was pleased with some of the individual performances. Senior Cameron Crowe won both the 100 and 200-meter races, and anchored winning efforts in the 400-meter and 800-meter relays. Fellow senior Jeremiah Pavlak captured top honors in the 300 meter hurdles.

Hopkins ran its record to 4-1 in the O-K Silver by downing visiting Godwin Heights last Tuesday, 82-45. Leading the way were some freshmen – Mitch Pavlak, Nick Kuiper, Dylan Williams and A.J. Rose. All of them were part of a winning 3200-meter relay team, while Williams captured the mile run, and Pavlak (800 meters) and Kuiper (mile) also placed in their individual categories.
