HAMILTON—It is difficult to win anything without scoring some firsts, but to win a conference championship without winning any events would seem to be impossible, but that is exactly what the Hamilton girls’ track team did last Friday, May 8, at the OK Green League meet and Hamilton coach Travis Pertner recognized what an unusual feat his girls had accomplished.

He said, “In my 16 years of coaching, this was certainly the most unique accomplishment. There were many variables that played out this year to get us to this point. Perhaps the point of greatest emphasis is that our league has many outstanding individuals, but not a lot of outstanding teams. Unity Christian and Zeeland West were okay, but they had some huge holes and we took advantage.
