Grand Rapids Christian’s Julia Bos runs to cross country win

CALEDONIA — Julia Bos doesn’t know what a couple more inches and a few more pounds wound do for her cross country career.

So far, however, it doesn’t seem to have made much difference to the Grand Rapids Christian freshman.

After finishing second to the same runner three times this season, the 5-foot, 75-pound Bos made history in winning Saturday’s Christian School Invitational at the South Christian athletic complex.

It was the first cross country meet ever hosted by South Christian, which finished work on its new course at the athletic complex just six days before the meet.

Bos won the meet with a time of 19:16.2, the first time she’s taken a first after finishing second to East Grand Rapids’ Lauren Grunewald in three previous meets.
