Grand Haven’s girls cross country team out-ran the field at Saturday’s Hill and Bale Invitational at Fremont, scoring 54 points to hold off Traverse City and East Kentwood.

Cristina Perez placed fourth overall with a time of 19 minutes, 11 seconds. Laura Addison was 10th at 20:01, followed closely by Julia Stock in 12th place (20:09) and Priscilla VanHeest in 13th (20:18).

Karen Lomeo was 15th (20:25) and Natalie Myers 17th (20:29). Catherine Keegin placed 22nd (20:44).

“Our depth saved us today,” Russick said. “We have a team that is not afraid to compete with each other. When one girl has an off race, another fills in, keeping us in the game.”
