Girls Cross Country
The Ram girls cross country team had one thing after its name all during the season – the word “champion.”

The team captured the respect of opponents and the titles of five invitationals along the way. The Ram harriers claimed the titles of the Bath Invitational, Carson City Invitational, Portage Invitational, Kent County Cross Country Championships and even their own invite.

Their dream season continued with a perfect 7-0 season and an OK Red crown. In the post-season the Rams absolutely dominated the regional. Rockford claimed the MHSAA regional title with an impressive score of just 21 points, blistering second-place finisher Grand Ledge at 75. The girls were led by regional champion Jane Hawks. Hawks, a sophomore, clocked in at 18:33, beating out second-place finisher Julia Otwell, a Traverse City Central senior ,who crossed the line at 18:55.

The Rams then claimed the state runner-up title with 192 points, behind Saline’s first-place score of 141.
