Gaylord cross country boys go from unheralded to sixth in the stateMonday, November 9, 2009 10:35 AM ESTBROOKLYN โ€” They started out the season unheralded, and went through it unranked.

But on Saturday, everybody knew about the Gaylord boys cross country team, which had one of the best days in school history at the Division 2 state finals at Michigan International Speedway.

The Blue DevilsThe Blue Devils took sixth overall with the fifth-best finish in school history. It was an impressive performance for a group that just kept getting better throughout the season.

With just one senior on the roster, it was the first-ever trip to the finals for each of the Gaylord runners.
