Forest Hills Eastern thumps Catholic Central in boys cross country

WAYLAND — At this point in the high school cross country season, rest and recovery might be more important than racing.

Forest Hills Eastern’s boys were rested enough Wednesday afternoon to beat Catholic Central, 19-38, in O-K Gold dual action.

The Hawks, who finished the dual season undefeated, will rest until the conference meet Tuesday at Johnson Park.

“I try to shy away from racing as much as possible. Once a week is enough,” Forest Hills Eastern coach Jeremy Hurley said. “You need recovery and rest as much as you need to race. At this time of the year, it is all about staying healthy.”
