KENTWOOD, Michigan — Jeff Kline lived vicariously through Flushing teammate Ryan Staley, then found out for himself what it’s like to be a state champion.
After watching Staley win the pole vault, Kline went out and broke the all-class record for a state track and field meet by going 24 feet, 1 inch in the long jump at the Division 1 meet Saturday at East Kentwood.
