Flint Northwestern girls cross country team win city championship

FLINT, Michigan — Flint Northwestern’s girls cross country team captured the two of the top three times to finish in first place the Flint city cross country meet Thursday at Flint Southwestern.

Southwestern’s Shanita Fluker won the meet in 23:51. Northwestern’s Claressa Shields came in second in 23:59 and teammate Sierra Leon took third place in 28:46.

Team standings — 1. Northwestern; 2. Southwestern, Northern did not field a team.
