Dexter, Milan place in top five at Portage Invitational

PORTAGE — At the biggest cross country meet in the state, two county schools showed they belong among the elite.

Girls teams from Dexter and Milan finished third and fifth, respectively.

Dexter was paced by Kristen Yarows’ fourth-place finish in 18 minutes, 44 seconds. Caci Dishman (19:41) and Emily Pap (19:47) also turned in sub-20 minute times for the Dreadnaughts.

Katie Taylor and Lauren Lafontaine rounded out Dexter’s scorers.

Milan was led by a second-place finish by senior Jordan Tomecek (18:26). Angela Swain was 11th in 19:25 for the Big Reds.
