The 2010 cross country state meet was held Saturday at Michigan International Speedway in Brooklyn. Numerous local teams competed in the finals which included boys’ and girls’ Divisions 1 through 4.

Locally in the Division 1 boys’ meet, Dexter placed second in the state with 114 points. Saline was fifth with 180 points. Ann Arbor Pioneer was 23rd with 541 points, while Ann Arbor Huron was 25th with 601 points.

Individually, the top performer was Saline’s Nick Renberg who placed seventh overall in the state with a time of 15:34.1. Taylor Neely paced Dexter finishing 11th in 15:42.

In the Division 1 girls’ meet, Saline placed seventh with 224 points. The Hornets were defending state champions. Dexter placed 15th with 382 points, while Ann Arbor Pioneer was 22nd with 488 points.

Individually, Huron’s Annie-Norah Beveridge led the area placing 29th in 18:32.9. Saline’s Amy Creutz was 38th in 18:48.5.

In Division 2, the Chelsea boys finished 17th with 388 points.
