FLINT, Michigan — Some track and field teams, especially those heavy on sprinters, basically went into survival mode Saturday at the Coca-Cola Classic at Houston Stadium.

The rain stopped by the time the running finals began, but temperatures plummeted and the wind picked up throughout the day.

Quite simply, hamstring muscles and cool weather don’t mix. Pulling a muscle with regionals coming up next weekend could be a disaster for athletes looking to reach the state meet.
