Initially, it appeared as though Megan Clifford’s season might be over.
Clifford, an all-state hurdler as a junior and one of Brighton’s best all-around track and field athletes, landed awkwardly while long jumping in an April 28 dual against Howell.
“It felt like my leg pretty much broke in half at my knee and it hyperextended,” Clifford said at the time.
For someone as competitive as Clifford, though, the result in the long jump that night was as important to the discussion as the injury.
