Breckenridge’s Kirsten Olling wins Division 4 girls cross country state championship
BROOKLYN—Entering Saturday’s Division 4 cross country state finals at Michigan International Speedway, Breckenridge freshman Kirsten Olling was undefeated in races she participated in.
That hasn’t changed.
Olling, a freshman, won the state championship after completing the MIS course in 18:09.4—14 seconds better than the runner up. She completed her first season with the Huskies a perfect 15-0.
“It feels good,” Olling said. “I’m just happy to be the first girl from Breckenridge to win it.”
The accolades didn’t end there for Olling. After already setting a Division 4 regional record and meeting her personal goal of an 18-minute race, she notched the fourth-best Division 4 state finals finish in history on Saturday.
