BD girls rally past Whiteford: boys included in article if you follow this link
BRITTON, Mich. –

The Britton-Deerfield girls track team put together a rousing comeback Thursday and defeated Tri-County Conference rival Whiteford, 67-61.

The Patriots trailed Whiteford 56-40 after the 300 meter hurdles, but BD athletes won the final four events and outscored the Bobcats 27-5 in those events to pull out the win. Anna Burnor started the rally by leading a 1-2-3 sweep in the 800 meter run in 2:41.4, followed by Monique Pollock winning the 200 meter dash, Rachel Smith the 3,200 meter run and the BD 1,600 relay team to secure the win. Smith was a double winner, also taking the 1,600 run.

Blissfield at Hudson: Blissfield was in control in its LCAA meet with Hudson, taking a 93-44 victory. The Royals won three of four relays and got a double win from Laura Goetz in the 100 and 200 meter dashes. Hudson’s Jamie Grob won both the 100 hurdles and 300 hurdles and was also on the winning 1,600 relay team for the Tigers (0-2, 0-2 LCAA).

Sand Creek at Clinton: The Sand Creek girls track team pulled out a 77-60 TCC victory over Clinton.

Olivia Jewett was the star for the Aggies on Thursday as she won a pair of events. Jewett won the 1600 run with a time of 5:59 and the 800 run in 2:40 to lead Sand Creek.

The Aggies also won three out of four relay races to help seal the victory.

Hannah Payne led the way for Clinton as she won four events. Payne won her only field event, the long jump with a leap of 15 feet nine inches. Payne then won the 100 dash in 13.8 seconds before taking the 200 in 28.9 seconds. Payne was also a part of the winning 800 relay team that won with a time of 1:59.
