Area girls runners-up at Corunna Invitational cross country meet

CORUNNA, Michigan — Swartz Creek’s Casey Campbell was second in the girls’ large school race in 19:54 and Clio’s Lindsay Taylor took fifth in 20:25 at the Corunna Invitational cross country meet Saturday.

Ionia won the girls’ title with 47 points. Flushing was third in the seven-team field with 70, Creek fourth with 95, Clio fifth with 132 and Carman-Ainsworth sixth with 145.
Corunna’s Marissa Schneider was second in the girls’ medium school race in 21:07 and Powers’ McKenzie was fourth in 21:37. Caro won the title with 24 points, followed by Powers (59), Vassar (73), Corunna (95) and Lake Fenton (115).
