Monroe High graduate Justin Heck helped Columbia University win only its third Ivy League cross country championship in school history Friday.
The sophomore finished fourth for the Lions and 15th overall with an 8k time of 25:51.5.
His place was huge as Columbia edged Princeton for first place 60-61, denying the Tigers their bid for a fourth consecutive Ivy League title. It was the closest league meet since 1972.
Columbia previously won league cross country meets in 1979 and 2004.
