Grand Valley State men’s, women’s cross country teams repeat as GLIAC champs

LINWOOD, Mich. — The Grand Valley State women’s and men’s cross country teams haven’t known what it is like to lose conference titles in a long time.

They weren’t about to experience that feeling Saturday.

Both Lakers teams kept their impressive streaks alive with victories at the Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference championships. GVSU’s men swept to their eighth consecutive title with 21 points, followed by Saginaw Valley State at 53.

Grand Valley’s women, who had not lost a title since 2000, made it nine in a row, winning with 20 points — 25 points ahead of runner-up Ferris State.
